Best Headrests at Every Price Links
- Office Chair Headrests Under $300
- $500 Headrests
- Best Headrests for $700
- Headrests for $1000 or Less
- No Budget for an Office Chair
1. Office Chair Headrests Under $300
The first price point we looked at was the $300 or less headrests. The office chair that we chose as number one was the Clatina Mellet. This headrest provides 2-way adjustability and has a larger cushion for a substantial amount of comfort and support.

The next chair we found to have a great headrest was the Aeron Atlas, now with this chair, there is a separate charge for the headrest which is $190 added onto the $1000 chair. It’s not the cheapest option, but it includes the same mesh as the chair and it looks high end.

2. $500 Headrests
Moving onto the next price point of $500. This range is more of an average for most people. The Branch Ergonomic Chair falls into this category. This chair portrays a wider headrest and you won’t hit the frame when moving around freely. It contains soft upholstery as well. One of the features we liked is the headrest stays out of the way when sitting up in the chair and is right there when you fall back in the reclining position.

Coming in a close second is the Realm of Thrones office chair. This one is unique and not top of mind for many people. The headrest is huge and the adjustability is easy to navigate. You get a full suspension feeling as well.

The Secret Lab Titan was the next pick at this price. It is probably one you wouldn’t expect, but the headrest is comfortable and cushy more than the chair itself. If the chair was as comfortable as the headrest, it could be a real winner overall. The quality itself is top notch too.

3. Best Headrests for $700
Meanwhile, at the higher price range of $700, we looked at the OM Yes chair. This provides a 3-way adjustable headrest. This chair also technically has a bonus adjustment because you are able to move the back height up and down to really position the headrest to your liking. It is a flatter design so it can lay against your head or neck.

4. Headrests for $1000 or Less
This price point may scare people, but with this price comes a good chair and headrest in most cases. Our top pick is the Herman Miller Vantum gaming chair. This headrest is very versatile and can be used both in the recline mode and straight up sitting position.

Another option for the higher range would be the Ergohuman office chair. It supports your head and neck and has great flexibility. One downside on this headrest is it doesn’t always hold its position and the full mesh isn’t my favorite. Overall, this headrest fits well in this category. The Ergohuman also comes in a leather seat option which is a tad more than $1000, but people tend to lean towards the leather over the mesh office chair.

5. No Budget for an Office Chair
What if you could purchase any office chair, regardless of budget? Well, here are some options we considered if this were to be true. Our first pick would be the Humanscale Freedom chair. This headrest is very different from other ones because it pushes your head forward when reclining. It might look uncomfortable, but in reality, it’s a comfortable fit. This chair allows you to stay relaxed in the recline position while still working at your desk.

We want to point out another significant headrest to the collection and that is the Herman Miller Cosm. The only discrepancy I would have is when you are in the recline mode, your head is tilted toward the ceiling instead of at the computer screen. I don’t see that being very comfortable for a long period of time.

The Neutral Posture is the next chair in line that would serve the purpose of a good working headrest. It fits virtually every size person and has a thick pad. It’s easy to move out of the way when you don’t want it by simply swinging it upwards. In general, this headrest adjusts in all directions to fit you the best way possible.

Final Thoughts
Ultimately, headrests can provide exceptional comfort to an office chair. They also may improve posture, relieve neck strain, and boost productivity during your workday.

Hi! Thanks for this helpful article. I went to the Branch site, and it looks like they have a new model–Ergonomic Pro. Have you tested it? They claim to have done extensive testing to develop this upgrade. I’d be interested in your take.
Keep up the great work with your team and products!
Peace,
Dave
