Herman Miller is a popular brand and most people know their chairs. Unfortunately, the Verus gets swept under the rug and most people forget it exists. I had the opportunity to test out the Verus and it holds the best value in the lineup. This chair is only $735 fully loaded whereas other chairs fully loaded are much more.

Herman Miller Verus Links
1. Comfort Matters
Starting off with the comfort level of this chair, it is soft and solid. The quality is up to par for this brand and in general a well put together chair. With this brand comes the 12-year warranty so if something were to break, you can have it fixed or replaced. I will say the seat is cushioned well, there’s just not any seat depth adjustment. This isn’t really a problem for me, but to some it could be a drawback.

The Verus is one of the few chairs in the bunch that come with a padded seat so that’s a win in itself with this brand. It’s not too firm which is nice for people that like to sink into a seat more. Other chairs like the Mirra 2 and Cosm have hard plastic edges on their seat, so with the padded seat the Verus doesn’t have any annoying edges.

2. Well Rounded Back Support
Next is the back support which is very similar to the seat in my opinion. It’s relaxing and comfortable compared to other Herman Miller chairs. It is a full mesh design with good flexibility and you don’t feel the frame at all when leaning back. There is great coverage through my entire back and shoulders. The lumbar system also works great with easy adjustments and includes a pivot that is built in. There is height adjustment as well to ensure you can get it positioned to your liking.

This chair comes with a synchro tilt recline mechanism. This feature offers a good range and is very smooth to use. This is another example of good value for the price; you won’t find other chairs with this kind of functionality. You are able to lock the back rest in the position that fits you best and will also have 4 additional tilt limiter position options. This is usually something you see in higher end chairs; it provides more movement when working.

Another key feature is the tension control system, there are 7 options with this and the options actually click into place so there are no issues trying to find that perfect position. This helps and ensures a high comfort level.

3. Next Level Armrests
Lastly, the arms are something impressive to touch on. The Verus presents arms that are soft to the touch and comfortable for 8 hours a day. Personally, I think they are more solid than the Haworth Fern. They have 3-way adjustment, height, width and depth. The ranges are generous and satisfying. Other chairs within this price have limited options and don’t accommodate everyone.

Bottom Line
Overall, the Verus chair is unique because of the many functionalities and features it offers at that $700 mark. Often chairs at this price are made more cheaply and don’t come with nearly the same number of features. Try this chair out for yourself and get the full experience without the hefty price tag.
