If you’ve done any searching for kneeling chairs, then there is a good chance you’ve come across the Sleekform brand. Today, we are taking a look at the Sleekform Atlanta. It is one of their best-selling products with over 600 reviews on Amazon and a 4-star rating.
We placed an order for one and in this review, I will walk you through the entire buying experience. From shipping and assembly, to making adjustments and the ergonomic experience. By the end, I hope to have given you the information necessary to decide if the Sleekform Atlanta is the right kneeling chair for you.

Sleekform Return Policy
If you purchase your chair directly from Sleekforms’s website, then all sales are final. You cannot return or exchange the chair.
If you purchase the chair on Amazon, then you can return the chair for up to 90 days for a full refund. If the chair is returned within the first 30 days, then the return shipping charges will be covered by Sleekform. If the return is made after 30 days, you will be responsible for the return shipping charges.
Warranty
The Sleekform chair comes with a 30 day warranty. After purchasing your chair, you will want to register it on Sleekform’s website. Unfortunately, Sleekform has the shortest warranty out of the chairs I tested, so its overall score took quite a big hit because of that.
Shipping
The Sleekform ships via FedEx or UPS ground. Ours arrived a few days after placing our order, so it was a fast turnaround time. The box is small and weighs about 20 pounds. The items are packaged tightly within the box and there is cardboard or foam protecting each part. I did not find any damage from shipping on our Sleekform.
Installation
The Sleekform Atlanta does require assembly. You will not need any tools or additional hardware. The process is easy but there is a decent amount of screws, so it will probably take most people about 20-30 minutes to complete the assembly.

Build Quality
Imported from China and composed of low-end parts puts the Sleekform Atlanta on the low end of the build quality spectrum. It features an x shaped design with four wheels. The frame is metal with a black paint finish. I noticed that the frame squeaks quite a bit when trying to shift around on the chair.
The four wheels are lower quality, but they roll decently and the front two have the option to lock them in place. The hand screw height adjustment is a very basic system and it does not always turn smoothly.
The Sleekform has really thick padding but it does bottom out pretty quickly. It has a thick vinyl upholstery that is soft to the touch, but I question how it will hold up over the long haul. In the short time we have had the chair, I can already see that the vinyl has stretched a bit and the foam appears lumpy compared to when it first arrived.
Mobility While Seated
There are two wheels in the front of the chair and two wheels in the back. The front two wheels have a locking function. You can press the small button next to each wheel to lock them in place.
The wheels help a great deal with small adjustments to get comfortable for typing. They are also great because they allow you to easily move around your desk and office without having to get out of the chair each time.
The wheels are going to work best on very low pile carpets or smooth surfaces. There were times that the wheels did not want to turn right away but overall, they did their job.
Portability
Moving the Sleekform around your office is easy. The wheels allow you to roll it with little effort. It only weighs around 15 pounds so picking it up and carrying it is an option too.
Range of Motion
When looking at range of motion, we are focusing on your ability to move your body, while sitting in the chair. How active does the chair allow you to be? Unfortunately, with the Sleekform Atlanta, there is no range of motion.
When kneeling chairs were first designed, one of the big points of emphasis was allowing the person to be more active while they are sitting and working. To accomplish this, frames were designed with flexible materials and shapes to allow the user to move around more freely.
The rigid metal frame on the Atlanta does not allow for any movement while you are sitting. Once you are sitting, you are locked into position.
Adjusting the Sleekform
There is one adjustment on the Sleekform Atlanta, seat height adjustment. This adjustment is controlled with a hand screw found underneath the seat. I was not able to reach the adjustment when seated, so I had to adjust and then test the height, which was not ideal.
The range is quite large, which is good, but adjusting the height was time consuming. It took me 94 hand turns to go from the lowest height to the tallest height. That is a lot of time and a lot of hand turning.
Seat Comfort
The seat features very thick padding. The shape is a bit like a letter “C” that faces the direction you sit. It is not nearly as large as the seats you find on normal office chairs. The seat is upholstered in a vinyl.
I like the vinyl on the Atlanta. It is smooth but not so smooth that you slide on the seat. It is also soft, so it feels good on your skin and is not abrasive to clothing.
While the seat has really thick padding, it is susceptible to bottoming out rather quickly. I found that after about an hour, I could feel that the seat was much flatter than when I started.
Knee/Shin Comfort
The knee pads are almost identical to the seat. It has a similar shape, the same padding and the same vinyl. Like the seat, I am a fan of the vinyl on the knee pads.
I found that the knee pads will bottom out quickly. They can also get quite warm because they feel like they are hugging your legs with the foam bottoming out.
Ergonomics
The goal behind a kneeling chair is to open your hip angle and introduce more movement while you are sitting. This helps to reduce pressure on your lower back and tailbone, while increasing blood flow and energy burned.
The Sleekform Atlanta has a wide range of seat angles. The seat is almost flat when in the lowest position. This will put almost all of your weight on the seat and very little weight on the shin pads. Some people may not even be able to place their shins on the pads in when at the lowest heights.
At the tallest heights, the seat angle will be much steeper and will place about an even amount of weight being shared between the seat and shin pads.
The seat angle adjustment is great for ensuring a comfortable and proper ergonomic position. But, the lack of motion is a big hindrance to the ergonomics on the Sleekform Atlanta. I think this chair is best suited for an hour or less at a time.
What Do I Like?
Good sitting mobility
Having four wheels that function well most of the time is really nice for mobility around your desk. They are definitely more productive than having to get up and sit back down again anytime you need some out of your reach.
Seat height adjustment
I like the seat height because it allowed me to move the seat height to my desk height, instead of having to move my desk to my chair height. I also liked that the seat height gives you so many different seat angles.
Good portability
The Sleekform is small and easy to carry around your home or office. The wheels also gives you another option of being able to move the chair from location to location with ease.
What Don’t I Like?
Low end build quality
The Atlanta is composed of low-end parts, so I have concerns with the longevity of this product. I think that is important to limit expectations with products with such low-price points.
30-Day warranty
Having such a short warranty is another factor that concerns me, especially with the low-end build quality. Competing models also offer lower end products to stay at competitive prices, but they still have warranties of two or more years.
Knee/shin padding may not be comfortable
For me, the thick padding on the knee pads was detrimental to my comfort. It took about 20-30 for them to bottom out. This made the contact much firmer on my shins and it also made the pads act as leg warmers.
Seat may not be comfortable
The seat also suffers from potential problems with bottoming out. I didn’t bottom out quite as fast as the knee pads, but it would take less than an hour before the seat would start to feel stiff.
No range of motion
I think the biggest downside to the Sleekform Atlanta is that it lacks any range of motion when you are sitting. Being locked into position was not comfortable for me and was the biggest reason why I did not find the chair to be comfortable for any substantial length of time.
Bottom Line
I think the most attractive features on the Sleekform Atlanta, for most people, are going to be the low price point and thick cushions. For some people, thick cushions mean automatic comfort. And for less than $100 you can have some of the thickest cushions in the category. Add seat height adjustment to help make sure you can get to a comfortable angle and the Sleekform Atlanta can be a nice choice for some people.
The Atlanta is less than $100, which is great for people shopping in that price range, but it is important to keep in mind that you get what you pay for. The Atlanta is made of lower end parts that have a higher chance to breakdown and become defective. It also comes with the shortest warranty in the industry and the rigid frame offers no motion when you are sitting.
The Atlanta has some nice upsides, but it also has some big downsides to consider. It is up to you to ultimately decide whether the upsides outweigh the downsides when making your buying decision.
