Secret Lab is a widely known brand, specifically the gaming chairs. Today I want to share my experiences with both the NeueChair and the Titan Evo 2022. Both are very different chairs but have good qualities that are worth mentioning. Some prefer office chairs over gaming chairs.

1. Design Difference
To start off, the chairs are different prices. Depending on your budget, it may steer you in one direction over the other. The NeueChair is $200 more than the Titan Evo. They have unique designs as well. The Titan Evo is more of a gaming style versus the Neue which is an office style. Even though they are from the same brand, they have their own features. The Titan has a bucket foam seat and side bolsters. It also includes a color scheme to give more of a gamer feel. The only issue is the seat pad is firm so it can cause discomfort for some people.
The Neue has a mesh seat which stretches over a plastic frame. I don’t love this design because you can feel the frame when sitting and it isn’t the most comfortable. There is not much cushion with this seat either. The front edge is very pronounced and does push against the back of your legs. It doesn’t give you a very relaxed feeling. The one advantage for the Neue is that it comes with seat depth adjustment while the Titan does not have the option. With the seat adjustment option, more body types will fit in the Neue whereas the Titan is limited.
2. Back Support
Moving on to another feature; the back support. Both chairs have credible back support. However, the Neue is mesh like its seat so you may feel the frame digging in your back when sitting too long. The Titan presents a cushioned backrest, and both have a two-way lumbar adjustment. One thing I noticed too is how the back on the Titan is warmer because of the thick padding, there isn’t any airflow, this could cause problems for some people. I also feel trapped in this chair because it lacks the flexibility. I much rather have the Neue backrest because of the openness and flexibility.
3. Comfortable Headrest
Next, I compared headrests on both chairs. They have great things about them, just very different styles. The Titan headrest is built in and comes with a pillow, unfortunately there is not much adjustment with it. On the other hand, the Neue headrest is that mesh material and it can be adjusted to your liking. I personally like the comfort of the Titan headrest better, but everyone will have their own opinion on it.
One thing the Titan has that is unique is a recline feature that lays all the way flat. Now this might not be practical for people, but gamers often like it. I am not a fan of this just because I can’t see my screen and my legs start to go numb from hanging over the front edge with no support. The knee tilt feature is also a great addition to have because it’s easy to rock back and forth in and recline unlike a center tilt that most gaming chairs have. The Neue has a synchro tilt mechanism which is a step up from what the Titan has and that allows for ergonomic positioning.
4. Adjustable Arms
Clearly, each chair has their own special adjustability when it comes to the arms. To my surprise, the Neue has only height and pivot adjustments, but it looks like there are more triggers than that. It includes clicking and noisy adjustments too which can be distracting. The arms are too forward for me so when I tilt back, it makes it hard to rest my arms nicely.
The Titan though has 4-way adjustments which allow more movement for the arms. It doesn’t have much of a range, but they are placed better and more versatile. The pads are better on the Titan in my opinion, the Neue pads are simply too firm. Don’t get me wrong there is some softness just not what I prefer.
5. Weight Restrictions
Weight capacity isn’t normally a topic we discuss, but in this case, I want to touch on it. The Titan is a go-to for our big and tall customers, this is because there are 3 size options which can fit individuals up to 395 Ibs. This is a huge win and is more than a standard size office chair. This is an affordable option while still keeping the quality consistent. The Neue does not have the option for big and tall users. It has a limited weight of 245 Ibs and has a narrower design.
6. Warranties To Know
Warranties should be considered when purchasing an office chair. Even though both chairs come from the same company, there are some differences in policies. A couple things that remain the same though is returns are allowed in the first 49 days and the return shipping be paid for by the customer. The Neue chair does require an additional 20% restocking fee if you have reassembled the chair. You also get 12 years of coverage for the base and frame.
With the Titan, you get 3 years of coverage on everything. There is an option to get 5 years of coverage, but you have to promote the chair on social media. For some that might become tedious work that you want no part of.
Bottom Line
Overall, both Secret Lab chairs are good options, but they are not my favorite. The Neue is more ergonomically sound, but it does have multiple deal breakers. The Titan comes in cheaper and more comfortable so I would choose it over the Neue.
