Be aware that the black option will actually feature a gray monitor platform and keyboard tray. I would consider it a medium grey. Everything else on the unit is black.

The WorkFit-T comes with a five year manufacturer’s warranty. There are no exclusions.
Shipping
The WorkFit-T typically shipped within a couple days and then arrived a few days later via UPS Ground. The products arrived in similar packaging to many other standing desk converters, but did have damage on the unit. The box was really beat up with a large puncture across the top. There were several dent marks in the top of the monitor platform. I believe that this is probably a rare case and UPS was overly aggressive with the package. But, it is certainly a risk when ordering a product that large, that ships via UPS Ground. Had this been for anything but a review, I would have wanted it replaced for one in good condition.

Assembly
The WorkFit-T arrives fully assembled. It is ready to go right out of the box.
Footprint
The WorkFit-T has a rectangular shaped base that requires a desk space of 31.75”W x 22.25”D to sit on top of. The platforms have a bit of overhang so you will need to make sure you have a total clearance of 35”W x 25”D. The movement pattern is straight up and down so the space required for the WorkFit-T will remain the same at all heights.
Mobility
The WorkFit-T is not the type of product to buy for its mobility. It is fairly large and weighs about 50 pounds, which means that it is quite a chore to move to another office or off your desk. Once on your desk, it is meant to stay in the spot you initially put it in and left there.
Build Quality
The WorkFit-T utilizes a very similar design to the VariDesk Pro Plus. The base is shaped like a Z and the unit raises from the back. Unlike the other two models, the WorkFit-T has a straight up and down movement pattern, instead of pushing you away from the desk base as you raise the unit. The WorkFit-T uses a very primitive adjustment system composed of springs, drawer slides and a notched bar to lock it at different heights.

Although the WorkFit-T is coming out of China, it is a big step up in quality over other Chinese products like the VariDesk Pro Plus. The unit feels solid and moves smoothly, with no awkward sounds. The platforms feel strong and have nice rounded corners.
The WorkFit-T is a nice-looking product. The grey finish on the platforms gives the unit a unique look that I have not seen on any other models. The monitor platform also has beveled edges and the Ergotron logo on the front edge. This helps to add a sleek look to the product. The rest of the products is black which includes screws, brackets and other plastic found on the WorkFit-T.
Adjusting the WorkFit-T
The WorkFit-T only features height adjustment. There are two handles found on both undersides of the monitor platform. Press both handles to unlock the unit. You can then move the unit up or down. Release the handles when in your desired position to lock the unit in place. The WorkFit-T doesn’t have infinite position lock, but it has 20 different positions so there is not a very big gap between the various options like I have seen on other models.

The movement is assisted by a spring lift system. The unit is easy to adjust in both directions, but it will require a little more effort at tall heights. Make sure to hold the handles all the way down when making adjustments. If you are only partially holding them, they will click against the locking teeth on their way down which will put unnecessary wear on the unit.
Stability
The stability on the WorkFit-T is one of its biggest strengths. At sitting height, the product is very solid. I was a little worried about this because the unit does not lower all the way down when the unit is empty. It just hovers a bit over your desk. Once loaded with my monitor and accessories, the unit was pushed down to my desk and the keyboard tray rests flat against my existing desk. This means there is no keyboard bounce when seated. There is a minimal amount of side to side wobble, when seated, which produces a touch of monitor shake.
The WorkFit-T is also very stable when standing. The wobble is only increased slightly and the keyboard tray is one of the most stable keyboard trays I have used at standing height. The monitor shake is a bit more noticeable at standing height, but it is certainly not a hindrance.
The WorkFit-T took a slight deduction in the General Stability category due to the front to back rocking motion that is present on the unit. The back of the platform is the least supported area and it will rock slightly when weight is pushed on it. This rocking is minimal once you get the unit loaded but this little bit of movement causes a small ripple effect that decreases the stability on the other areas a little bit. This is purely speculation, but I would have to think that adding a monitor arm to the back of the monitor platform would accentuate this rocking effect.
Sitting Wobble (10%) | Standing Wobble (15%) | Sitting Bounce (10%) | Standing Bounce (15%) | Sitting Shake (10%) | Standing Shake (15%) | General (25%) | Total Score |
95/100 | 85/100 | 100/100 | 90/100 | 85/100 | 70/100 | 85/100 | 86/100 |
Ergonomics
The WorkFit-T is going to be lacking a bit in the ergonomics department. For starters, it does not have dual ergonomics out of the box. This means that the keyboard tray and monitor platform are at a fixed distance between each other. Dual ergonomics is an important function for people concerned with maintaining the correct keyboard tray height and monitor viewing angle. To make the WorkFit-T dual ergonomic, you will need to add a monitor arm, which will increase the cost of the converter. The addition of the monitor arm will ensure that you are maintaining the proper monitor viewing angle.
The WorkFit-T has about 15” of height adjustment range with 20 different positions to choose from. The keyboard height ranges from about .75” to 15.25”. This keyboard range will accommodate a person that is about 6’2” when they are in the standing position. The minimum keyboard height is only .75”, but it is still enough to alter your normal typing position when in the seated position. This could pose a problem if you are shorter or like to have your keyboard lower than your desk.
I use a single 27” monitor and the screen is about 19” from the front of the keyboard tray. This distance increases to about 21” when using two 22” monitors. This puts your viewing distance anywhere from 22”-27”. The recommended ergonomic viewing distance is 20”-40” so the WorkFit-T is on the lower recommended end, but I never felt like I was too close to my monitor.
Task & Monitor Space
The WorkFit-T features an upper platform for your monitor and a lower platform for your keyboard and mouse. The upper platform has a cutout in the front like the VariDesk, Rocelco ADR and Halter ED-258. I am usually not a fan of this cutout design, but I think Ergotron did a better job than the others. The platform is really wide and more importantly, deep. The cutout is not so pronounced that it feels like you got short changed on space. Even with the cutout it is still plenty big for dual monitors and larger objects like catalogues, tablets or notebooks.

The monitor platform has five small plugs toward the back of the platform. These plugs are flush with the work surface and are removed when adding a monitor arm. I like these plugs better than the grommet mounts we have seen on other units. A grommet mount will have a plastic grommet insert that needs to be removed in order to place a monitor stand on that spot if you are not using a monitor arm. The Ergotron system limits you to their specific monitor arms but it removes this problem.
Keyboard Tray
Unfortunately, the keyboard tray was not as well done as the monitor platform. It is simply too small. It was not even close to deep enough for my ergonomic keyboard and it was barely wide enough to fit my keyboard and mouse on the tray together. There was no room to move my hand. You will need to go with a compact keyboard for the best experience on the WorkFit-T.

Wire Management
The WorkFit-T does not come with any wire management solutions. While some clips would be nice, this is purely a cosmetic issue since your cords will not be in danger of the pinch points if they are run straight off the back of the unit.
Safety
This type of standing desk converter design will have some inherent safety risks due to the pinch points on each side of the base. Make sure there are no objects or people in the way of the base when you are about to make an adjustment.
What do I like?
Great Stability
I love the stability on this product because it has no weaknesses and it excels in almost every area when compared to other standing desk converters. The WorkFit-T received one of the highest scores of the converters I have tested for stability.
Easy to Adjustment
The WorkFit-T has a single adjustment. The handles are large and easy to press. The unit moves easily in both directions. The straight up and down movement pattern does not force you to awkwardly step away from your desk as the unit gets higher like some other models with a similar design.
Large Monitor Platform
The monitor platform is very large, even with the cut-out at the front. The more accessories you have within your neutral reach zone, the better. The WorkFit-T does a good job of providing a lot of space for additional accessories, even with a dual monitor set-up.
Ships Fully Assembled
The WorkFit-T requires zero assembly. You just need to unpackage it, place it on your desk and it is ready for your items. This is a big positive for people that prefer not to assemble products.
Strong Warranty
The WorkFit-T has one of the best warranties in the standing desk converter market at five years. It is backed by one of the industry leaders which provides peace of mind knowing that you will be able to have a working standing desk converter for at least five years.
What don’t I like?
Lack of Ergonomics
One of the biggest drawbacks to the WorkFit-T is going to be its lack of ergonomics out of the box. This is a problem that we see on most standing desk converters. The product needs the addition of a monitor arm for it to be dual ergonomic which ensures that the proper monitor viewing angle can be achieved. My monitor was a bit too high when I was seated. I could not lower it since it was on its stand and not a monitor arm. This is a potential problem for neck strain.
The keyboard tray height may also be a problem for some people. This is another standing desk converter that increases the height of your existing desk so your normal typing angle will be altered when seated. The adjustment range of the unit is fairly large, but it will not be high enough to accommodate an ergonomic keyboard height for people over 6’2”.
You are also missing out on true infinite position lock. This converter has a lot of height options but nothing is better than being able to choose any height you want.
Small Keyboard Tray
The WorkFit-T has one of the smallest keyboard trays I have seen so far in my testing and it was a problem for me. I was not able to use my everyday keyboard and mouse comfortably because my keyboard was way too big. I was constantly hitting my hands on the side of the base when typing and mousing. This isn’t a problem with a compact keyboard, but being limited on your keyboard options is a bit disappointing.
Bottom Line
The WorkFit-T is not going to be perfect for everyone. The product is not going to be ergonomic out of the box and has an adjustment range that won’t work for everyone. The keyboard tray is also a limiting factor due to its small size. Even with those downsides, the WorkFit-T is still a very strong product that will be a good option for a lot of people. The product is easy to use, has a large task space and is very stable at all heights. It also requires no assembly and comes with one of the best warranties in the industry. The WorkFit-T received one of the highest overall scores among the standing desk converters I have tested so far, so there is a lot going for the WorkFit-T.
