1. Build Quality and Assembly
To start off, upon unboxing the chair, it is immediately evident that the build quality is impressive. Heavy doesn’t always equate to a good build, but in this case the aluminum alloy frame felt premium and sturdy, and the assembly process, although extensive, is made easy with clear instructions.

2024 Price: $1049
The parts are also well-packaged, ensuring that they are protected during shipping. This attention to detail in packaging is a welcome feature, as it prevents any potential damage to the chair during transit. Recently Greg in our office was disappointed to find scuffs on his Cougar Terminator chair because of loose items moving around in the box. I was happy to see this was not the case with the Fujin Pro.
2. Comfort and Adjustability
Next, the initial sit test reveals that the Fujin Pro is comfortable, but further testing is required to provide an in-depth review of its comfort. One notable aspect is that the chair feels very upright, pushing my back forward. However, with some adjustments, such as cranking up the lumbar support, I was able to get more comfortable in the chair.

The adjustable lumbar support is a huge advantage on a gaming chair, as it allows users to customize their seating experience. The wide back of the chair also provides freedom of movement, although I’m not ready to give it my endorsement yet.
3. Arm Pad Design
Following the comfort are the well-cushioned arm pads of the Fujin Pro. They provide a comfortable resting place for the arms. The 4-way adjustment feature allows users to customize the height, depth, width, and pivot of the arm pads. The width adjustment may require some breaking in to function smoothly.

It is worth noting that the arm pad design of the Fujin Pro is the same as that of the $500 Razer Iskur chair, which received an F tier in our 2024 gaming chair tier list. I would never recommend this chair due to its lumbar support. While the arm pads of the Fujin Pro are a standout feature, the sloped design may initially feel slippery and need some adjustment.
4. Mesh Seat Material
Designing a comfortable mesh seat is a challenge, and the Fujin Pro faces some common issues associated with mesh seats. Most of the top chair companies have tried, and even they struggle to design a mesh seat that is truly liked. Mesh seats tend to be firm, and while loosening the mesh can provide a softer feel, it can also lead to sinking and increased pressure on the tailbone.

Additionally, straying from the middle of the seat may result in discomfort due to the hard frame on the edges. The front edge of the seat is also a potential challenge, as it can create a hard edge under the thighs. Only a long sit test will tell if these issues are deal breakers for users.
5. Highly Adjustable Headrest
The Fujin Pro features a highly adjustable headrest, which I believe is a valuable addition for gamers who spend long hours gaming. I use the word ‘believe’ because I am not much of a gamer. This headrest includes three different adjustments and can be positioned to provide optimal support, even for taller individuals like myself.

Personally, I love a headrest that fits into the curve of my neck, rather than a pad that my head rests against. The one downside I can see with the headrest is that the mesh does have the tendency to catch hair, although this is not a significant issue unless you’re moving your head around excessively.
6. Gaming Design Vibes
Switching over to the design of the Fujin Pro; it looks more like an office chair compared to other gaming chairs on the market. It lacks the flashy features and branding typically associated with chairs like the Asus ROG Destrier or the Cougar Terminator. It even gives off Steelcase Karman vibes, which I consider to be one of the best-looking office chairs I’ve ever seen.

This design choice may appeal to users who prefer a more professional look. The all-mesh design of the chair not only adds to its aesthetics but also helps with heat dissipation, ensuring true breathability during long gaming sessions. The Fujin Pro is named after the Japanese god and Mortal Kombat character Fujin, known as the wind god. I’ll let you make whatever wind connections you’d like.
Bottom Line
Ultimately, the Razer Fujin Pro is a gaming chair that combines ergonomic design, functionality, and style. The chair’s build quality, adjustable features, and sleek design meet the expectations of a high-end gaming chair.
I consider the Fujin Pro to be an ergonomic office chair from a gaming products company, making it suitable for both professional and gaming environments. It has the potential to compete as a top gaming chair. Users should consider their specific comfort preferences and needs before making a purchase.
