Are there other ways to be ergonomically correct?
Investing in a new chair is a great first step to making your office space ergonomically correct, but there are other things you can do:
- Make sure your arms are at a 90 degree angle and wrists are straight while typing.
- Keep your monitor at eye level; you can do this by using an adjustable monitor arm.
- Ensure your distance from the monitor screen is 26 to 28 inches, or roughly the distance from your middle finger to your elbow.
- If you use a laptop, you may consider purchasing a separate keyboard, mouse and keyboard tray to make sure you can have your monitor and keyboard at the correct height.
- Avoid using a single light source as it will tire your eyes, and try to reduce glare.
- Use an adjustable height desk so you can switch between standing and sitting during the work day.
